Five of the best St George's Hall, Exeter on Fri 29th Jul 05
I cannot believe that no-one has written a review on this brilliant band. .What a night! El-Cojones played at their best, Betty Bondage playing her version of a Stones number, 'Sympathy for the Devil' was enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. Every musician was first class, the rawness of the singer, singing with his heart, some of the blues numbers was like wrapping your fingers in velvet. I would love to see a CD of El-Cojones, I for one would buy it. They are raw in their stage act, they talk to the crowds, they involve the crowd, the crowd gets in a frenzy, the band then gently brings them back down and carries them alone with excellent Sax playing, the haunting sound of Soul, the lead guitar talking the words. Every member plays and sings with love, they obviously enjoy what they do. Whilst El-Cojones are advertised as a Rock R & B cover band, they have their own style, and boy does it work. Come on you music lovers, follow the band.
