Test pilots The Showman, Exeter on Fri 10th Nov 06

This night El-cojones were testing out the soundproofing work I did to the party wall between us and next door...

As per usual they played the crowd... the crowd loved the show, and touch wood the only complaints we had about the band was the smell... Nice one guys...

Great fun night, mandolin tuned, beer sold and next door was happy...

Stonking the Thirsty Farmer, Whimple on Fri 13th Oct 06

No, we have spelt that right.... we do mean stonking.... We weren't actually close enough to the band to know if they were nasally challenging as well....
We had been intending to have a quiet night in cutting our toenails and ironing our thongs but instead we decided we'd like nothing better than an evening in the splendid company of El-Cojones and especially enjoy watching Dick Scratcher risk life and limb serenading the females of the species. He can't half run fast now!
Excellent entertainment - the only disappointment being that you've dropped the nun's outfits. We thought that should be habit forming.... (groan)
Look forward to seeing you again soon - we promise we'll leave Clive at home next time if we can't find his volume control.

Never the same act twice The Showman, Exeter on Fri 28th Jul 06

Tonight it was the turn of El-Cojones to entertain the crowd here at the Showman. Once again, a fantastic job guys. I think it's a new set of songs including such original classics as 'sit down' by James, 'do you ** on first dates' by Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson and 'she ** hates me' by Puddle of Mud. There was a real air of sophistication about the band tonight: Mike's flies were done up, Chris was at least half dressed, the new drummer called "Oi" had been scribbling on his arms in permanent marker pen, Rick Parfitt of Status Quo fame on saxaphone (so they told me) and Lee Van Eastwood on bass and "I'm the professional" attitude... What line up, then... the highlight of the night, at 10.30pm, The ElCoJones dancers did their stint... they had been sat there all night drinking Pimms punch looking like your normal ballet/rugby player types, but then during a rendition of a great cover of Red House they sprung in to action... obviously prompted by the lead singer who couldn't take his eyes off of these hunks strutting their stuff like true professionals... Then they stripped off and started dancing on the stage..... Of course this didn't faze the singer who is used to being surrounded by naked men while performing at night, balloon dancers minus the balloons... this little stint, obviously instigated by the scheming lead singer put the icing on a great cake of a night. With El-Cojones you can always expect a quality night of music, a clever range of spontaneous comedy and ALWAYS expect the unexpected because that's what this band are all about. They feed off the reaction of the crowd and play the night to suit...I would like to thank El-Cojones who did another great job with the set and the dancers, maybe next time you'll bring along a few ladies!

Top Banana! Royal Standard, Shaldon on Sat 3rd Jun 06

What a great night. After a pleasant drive to the Royal Standard, a smooth and classy glass of Shiraz, my evening took a definite turn for the better after the husky-voiced madman of the band, whispered those warm and tender words of that well-known ballad into my ear - "Do you f** on the First Date". Definitely a must for those who aren't easily offended!

Go see them! The Royal Oak Exeter on Mon 29th May 06

The band was brilliant, the music was great, their sense of humour fantastic. Go watch them - you don't know what you're missing if you don't. A real treat. Keep rocking lads.

These guys ROCK !!!!!

The Showman, Exeter on Fri 20th Jan 06. I know I am the Guvnor here and to write a review for a band who have played here seems a little strange but I feel I have to say that this night (20th Jan 06) was a great way to launch the live music here. El Cojones took this place apart. The sound was fantastic with the new Mackie powered sound system they are now running. A great band, a great set of songs, everything from the rolling stones to Kevin Bloody Wilson... I look forward to your return.
