Oh my head!

The Star, Newton Abbot on Sun 21st Sep 08

What a night have never seen this band they turned up to play the landlords 50th birthday bash looking like a right motley crew.
The singer looked like he had been sleeping in a hedge (apparently this was there 3rd gig of the weekend).
The sax player looked like he could use a good meal and the bass player bears a strong resemblance to Compo from last of the summer wine.

Just watching these guys set up their gear is a hoot, the cursing and insults are hilarious almost a show in itself.
The music and the banter was great then they started insulting the audience! Whatever you do don't heckle the big man at the front!

I love their version of aces how long, (wicked sax solo) in between the humour they really can play some great tunes.
We chucked requests at the guy's and they played them! The crowd sang along and we all got very drunk.

It bears a mention when talking about booze that the guitar player has his very own beer roadie!

By the last half an hour they had drunken women in there playing area dancing and waving their bits and pieces at the bemused drummer and dozens of balloons were being batted all over the place. From there it just got better and after several encores they had to finally call it a night.

What a fantastic show thanks a million. Loved spooky and long train running thanks guy's boy did I suffer Monday morning.

Zoe xx.

Why did I stay away so long?!

The Globe Inn, Exeter on Sat 19th Jul 08

It's been a while since I've seen you guys, but I definitely have missed you! I think this was the best I've ever heard you. PY has really bedded down nicely and though we all miss Mike, he knows how to use his sticks just as well! Thank you for Cell Block Number Nine followed by Under My Thumb - way to drive a girl mental. The new numbers were fantastic and I promise not to stay away so long again.

The guest saxist - well what can I say - it penetrated my soul.

It's lovely to see Stu being so much more vocal and giving Mike and Chris a run for their money in the p*ss-taking stakes.

See you very soon, much love xxx. Anna,

Finding their sea legs

River Cruise Exmouth Harbour, Exmouth on Sat 5th Jul 08.

What a great band. Saturday night was rough, the rain was lashing down, the wind was fierce and sea looked deadly.

El-Cojones turned up with smiles on the faces (except for the singer whose face was green!), set up and played a blinder.

Just 3 members of the band and Gadge from the Gadge Band on the skins.

As we cruised up the Exe Estuary (the sea was out of the question) they had us all dancing to the Stones, David Bowie, Dusty Springfield, the Commitments and many more.

It was a fantastic night and it raised £1,100 for the local charity TRIP.
WELL DONE LADS.

You rocked!

The Weary Traveller, Cullompton on Sat 24th May 08

Hi guys, I'd just like to say that your gig at the Weary last night was possibly one of your best. I know you had 3 new guys with you, but by eck they were good. You just all seemed to flow, and J.Y you definitely let your fingers do the talkin.

Thanx guys, c u soon. xxx.

El-Cojones - Carlton Theatre, Teignmouth on Wed 16th Apr 08

Missed the last Cojones gig at this venue. This was a stormer of a session. Have seen them at a few venues but this complete blues show had me in raptures (easily pleased). The healing game and my favourite The Thrill is Gone were sensational. The guys approached this gig with an air of seriousness not usually found at their pub gigs. That’s not to say they weren't having fun. Last gig for their drummer but have a new guy who has stepped up to the challenge. If you haven't caught these guys out yet check their web site for gig list and come along. keep up the good work guys,

In the face of adversity

The Globe Inn, Exeter on Sat 12th Apr 08

Saturday night in the globe was classic El-Cojones

The band were playing with a new and un-practiced drummer and a stand-in bass player these guys rocked a packed Globe.

The new Drum PY was a treat to watch and boy could he play those skins.

He came into his own with a style that had the old hands in the band looking a bit shocked.

This band as always had the place jumping with a mixture of great songs and there usual brand of blue humour.

Loved Spooky and The Thrill Has Gone

They have been together for 6 years now and yet the still find ways of doing great things with classic songs and making us laugh.

Thanks lads loved it!.
